Sting was funny this chapter, but the end was totally unexpected. I wonder what Gray wanted to tell her. I have a feeling he was actually going to confess as Juvia thought.

Also I don't want anything to happen to Ultear as much as I don't want Gray to die. But his chances are kinda slim. Maybe Ultear senses it, goes there and after she sees Ur's student like that, combined with her guilt her powers evolve and she'll be able to alter the time of living things as well. That would be the happiest scenario but I don't know the chances of that happening

I don't want either to die as well but I somehow feel that killing Gray... What point does it serve? Other than Juvia's character development and maybe Lyon's, in the main plot? Even FLucy's death had more of a purpose, the more I think about it, Gray's "death" is for shock and awe and a classic trollshima to make freak out before he waves his canon wand and makes it all better....

I doubt he was going to confess. There are plenty of other places that would make a lot more sense and it would be a little ooc of Gray to suddenly profess his love for her in the middle in a battlefield.
If it HAD to be a shippy thing he was going to say, than he might have been asking her out on a date after everything was over.

if there is no ice clone, Ultear is his only chance of surviving so we should hope that her magic evolves again at the right moment

I like him as a character just like any other character in the manga, especially since there'll be no Gruvia if he dies
